VBS 2010 - Saddle Ridge Ranch

First through sixth-graders are special at our church. The elementary years are vitally important in the physical, mental and spiritual development of a child. Realizing that the home is the center of a child's life, our ministry seeks to work hand-in-hand with parents to help them guide the spiritual growth of their children.

Sunday school is the primary ongoing program for childrens Bible teaching. Each week, committed Christian adults teach Biblical principles and their application through the active learning vehicles of Bible study and group times.

The children of First Baptist Church are building a solid spiritual foundation on which to build their future. They are our most precious resource. As a church, we continue our commitment to love them, to teach them and to strive to meet their needs.

Programs throughout the Year

Sunday Morning Bible Study - We begin in Room B200 with a large group game and introduction time and then children go to grade level classes to learn lessons for life through creative educational activities. Classes meet on the second floor of the Childrenrs Building from 9:00- 10:15 am.

Sunday Morning Worship- School-age children attend worship with parents.

Bible Buddies and Bible Drill- Children in grades one through six participate in games and activities with the goal of learning to use the Bible and memorizing verses and key passages Fourth through sixth graders also have the opportunity to participate in Bible Drill competition in the spring if they desire. Wednesdays, 6:00 -7:00 pm during the school year.

Children's Choir - After Spring Break programing switches from Bible Drill to Children's Choir. Children will learn more about music and how to worship God in song. Wednesdays, 6:00 -7:00 p.m.

Missions- Children learn how the love of Jesus is shared in different cultures around the world in RAs (Royal Ambassadors) (boys, grades 1-6) and GAs (Girls in Action) (girls, grades 1-6). Wednesday nights, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., during the school year.

Special Events

Im a Christian Now! - Each child who accepts Christ as personal Savior and Lord has an opportunity to attend this class which explains more about being a Christian. This class is a requirement for baptism.

Vacation Bible School- An exciting week during the summer for fun, making new friends and learning of Gods love. VBS is open to children who have completed Kindergarten through completed 6th grade.

Summer Camps- Three camp opportunities are available in the summer: RA camp, GA camp and Preteen Camp (M*A*D).

Bible Presentation- In September, all first graders receive their own Bible in a special presentation during the worship service.

Childrens Night at Christmas- In December we have a wonderful evening of fun for the children while parents attend adult Sunday School parties.

Twelve Sunday- Graduating sixth graders and their families participate in a recognition time as they celebrate the milestone of moving into the youth division.
